Widex

Widex  Hearing Aids has a new line of hearing aids using what the company terms “integrated signal processing”.  Integrated Signal Processing (or ISP) is available in the Inteo, Aikia, and Flash models.  ISP is a unique way of having the different parts of the hearing aid signal processing work together (see the newsletter on our website for a more detailed explanation, or just go to www.widex.com).

Widex  Hearing Aids also has an open fitting version of their ISP hearing aids.  It is called the Elan, and is available in most models. The open fitting is a Behind-the-Ear aid that uses a thin tubing going into the ear canal.  This lets more of the natural sounds come through, and avoids the occlusion effect on the wearer of the aid (the occlusion effect is when a person wears a hearing aid and feels like they are “talking in a barrel” or “plugged up”).
Other aids that are available are the Diva, Vita, and Bravissimo.  They come in all models, from the Completely-in-Canal to the Behind-the-Ear.

Hearing Aids of Widex

Today’s sophisticated digital Widex hearing aids deliver a sound quality that is closer to normal hearing than ever.

The sound quality that Widex hearing aids has obtained can be compared with the fine and precise sound you get when listening to a CD. We call it ‘High definition hearing.

One of the biggest problems for hearing aid users is the disturbing effect of background noise. Advanced digital hearing aids go a long way towards solving this problem. They are able to reduce noise and enhance speech by adjusting the sound smoothly and automatically.

Besides the fine sound, Widex hearing aids are so small that they can be worn discreetly on/in the ear.

Three types of hearing aid

There are three types of hearing aid: The smallest model, which is placed deeply in the ear canal and therefore barely visible, the discreet in-the-ear model and the small classic behind-the-ear model.

The choice of hearing aid depends on the type and configuration of the specific hearing loss.
